Garhwali wrote more intensely towards social reformist movements such as education, women's awakening, untouchability and the Nayak system. Garhwali editor Vishambhar Dutt Chandola published the first article on the sale of girls.

However, due to financial difficulties, the publication finally had to be stopped. Paying tribute to his death in 1970, Barrister Mukundilal said- "Chandola ji spent seventy-one years in journalism out of the twenty-one years of his life.
