Naini Lake
It is called the Lake District of India because it is surrounded by lakes all over the place. The word 'Naini' means eyes and 'Tal' means lake. Nainital, the city of lakes. Bhimtal Lake

Sattal

नीचे उत्तराखंड की कुछ सबसे लोकप्रिय प्राकृतिक झीलें हैं।
1 - नैनी झील

2 - भीमताल झील
भीमताल झील एक सहायक झील है। यह उत्तरांचल में काठगोदाम से 10 किमी उत्तर में है। इसकी लंबाई 1674 मीटर, चौड़ाई 447 मीटर और गहराई 15 से 50 मीटर तक है। यह नैनीताल से भी बड़ा पूल है। भीमताल झील पर स्थित है, जो शहर के मध्य में स्थित है। भीमाकर होने के कारण शायद इसी ताल को भीमताल कहते हैं। लेकिन कुछ विद्वान इस ताल को पांडु-पुत्र भीम से जोड़ते हैं।
3 - सातताल
सातताल नैनीताल से लगभग 23 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है, और भीमताल से 3 किमी पैदल दूरी और समुद्र तल से 1370 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। सत्तल एक अनोखी, विस्मयकारी और अविस्मरणीय जगह है।
4 - खुर्पाताल

7 - नौकुचियाताल

8 - नंदी कुंड झील
नंदी कुंड हरी घास के मैदानों और बर्फ से ढकी चोटियों से घिरी एक शानदार झील है। यह झील भगवान शिव को समर्पित है। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार भगवान शिव की सवारी करते हुए नंदी बैल इस सरोवर में पानी पीते थे। नंदी कुंड झील का पानी गर्मी के मौसम में भी बहुत ठंडा रहता है।
9 - केदारताल
केदारताल एक पूल है। यह उत्तराखंड राज्य के उत्तरकाशी जिले में स्थित है। इसे शिव की झील के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। यह एक हिमनद झील है। यह हिमालय के गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में समुद्र तल से लगभग 4,750 मीटर (15,000 फीट) की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है। उत्तराखंड की सबसे खूबसूरत झीलों में से एक केदार ताल है। यह गंगोत्री से 18 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह साहसी और प्रकृति प्रेमियों के लिए एक आदर्श स्थान है।
10 - रूपकुंड
रूपकुंड (कंकाल झील) एक बर्फीली झील है। यह भारत के उत्तराखंड राज्य के चमोली जिले में स्थित है जो अपने तटों पर पाए गए पांच सौ से अधिक मानव कंकालों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। यह स्थान निर्जन है और हिमालय पर लगभग 5029 मीटर (16499 फीट) की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है।
