Dunagiri Temple is located 15kms far from Dwarahat (Almora). This temple is situated on the top of Drona Mountain. Maa Dunagiri Temple is also known as 'Dronagiri'. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Durga. It is believed that when Hanuman Ji was carrying the mountain with 'Sanjiwani but for Laxman, a piece of it fell here and since that day this place has been known as 'Doonagiri'.This temple is situated at an altitude of 8,000 feet above sea level. The road leads to the temple by 365 stairs.
