Garhwali Women's Traditional Dresses
In the Garhwal region, women usually wear sari tied in a particular way, the pallu going from the front and knotted on the shoulder, with a waistband made of cloth. This is considered convenient for women to carry food and it does not interfere with their work on the fields. Earlier, the sari was worn with a full sleeves Angra (blouse) to protect the women from the cold.
A married woman was supposed to wear hansuli (silver ornament) worn around the neck, guloband, black beads and silver necklace called chareu, silver payal, silver necklace, silver dhagula (bracelet) and bichuye (toe rings). Sindoor along with bindi was also mandatory for a married woman. Even today, a Gulaband is a distinct feature of a married woman.

Garhwali men usually wear kurta and pyjama or kurta and churidar. This is the most common attire in the community. This is paired with a topi or pagadi to protect themselves from the cold. A lot of men also started wearing suits after the influence of the British. The fabric used for clothes differs according to the region's weather conditions, wool in colder regions and cotton in warmer regions.
During weddings, a yellow coloured dhoti and kurta are still the preferred attire for the groom.

गढ़वाली महिलाओं के पारंपरिक कपड़े
गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में महिलाएं आमतौर पर एक विशेष तरीके से बंधी हुई साड़ी पहनती हैं, पल्लू सामने से जाता है और कंधे पर बंधा होता है, कपड़े से बने कमरबंद के साथ। यह महिलाओं के लिए भोजन ले जाने के लिए सुविधाजनक माना जाता है और यह उनके खेतों में काम में हस्तक्षेप नहीं करता है। पहले महिलाओं को सर्दी से बचाने के लिए साड़ी को पूरी बाजू के अंगरा (ब्लाउज) के साथ पहना जाता था। एक विवाहित महिला को गले में पहना जाने वाला हंसुली (चांदी का आभूषण), गुलाबोबंद, काले मोती और चांदी का हार जिसे चारू कहा जाता है, चांदी पायल, चांदी का हार, चांदी का धगुला (कंगन) और बिचुए (पैर की अंगुली के छल्ले) पहनना चाहिए था। एक विवाहित महिला के लिए बिंदी के साथ सिंदूर भी अनिवार्य था। गुलाबबंद आज भी एक विवाहित महिला की एक अलग विशेषता है।

गढ़वाली पुरुष आमतौर पर कुर्ता और पायजामा या कुर्ता और चूड़ीदार पहनते हैं। यह समुदाय में सबसे आम पोशाक है। ठंड से खुद को बचाने के लिए इसे टोपी या पगड़ी के साथ जोड़ा जाता है। बहुत से पुरुषों ने भी अंग्रेजों के प्रभाव के बाद सूट पहनना शुरू कर दिया। कपड़े के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाने वाला कपड़ा क्षेत्र की मौसम की स्थिति, ठंडे क्षेत्रों में ऊन और गर्म क्षेत्रों में कपास के अनुसार भिन्न होता है।
शादियों के दौरान, पीले रंग की धोती और कुर्ता अभी भी दूल्हे के लिए पसंदीदा पोशाक है।
