Women's Traditional Attire
The women in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand used to be found wearing a Ghagra along with a kameez (shirt) as a blouse. This closely resembled the attire worn by many Rajasthani women. Today Kumaoni women wear Saari along with a kameez (shit) as a blouse. Kumaoni women also wear Pichoras, a type of garment common during weddings and ceremonies. Traditionally this was dyed and made at home and was yellow. Even today, women wear this traditional Pichora on their wedding day or on some occasions.
In the Kumaon region, married women wear big Naths made from gold covering their entire cheek, Hansuli, black beaded Necklace or Chareu, Bichuye (toe rings) made from silver, and sindoor. These were considered mandatory.
Men's Traditional Attire
Although very distinct from their often mixed-up community of Garhwalis, due to their language and beliefs, the traditional clothing attire of the men belonging to the Kumaoni regions are kind of similar to that of the Garhwali people. As a part of their traditional attire, the men wear Kurta paired with either Pyjama or Churidar due to its location and to ensure comfortable mobility since they have to travel long, rugged distances on foot. This is probably one of the most commonly worn clothing in this community which is also often paired up with a traditional Topi or turbans which also serve the purpose of saving the face and eyes from the harsh sun. They unlike their counterpart, also wear some sort of jewelry on their necks and hands. This is only specific and limited to the region of Kumaon parts in Uttarakhand.
Pichora (पिछोड़ा) - Tranditional Dress
The Pichora is perhaps the only part of the entire bridal attire that looks completely different and is a rich legacy that is passed on throughout generations. The Pichora has the utmost importance in Uttarakhand weddings, religious occasions, and other rituals. Pichoras are worn by married women in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Traditionally Pichoras were handmade using vegetable dyes, after which it is printed by hand; at the present time, a lot of machine-made Pichoras are available in the market. Pichhauras are available in red and saffron. Local designs made in Almora, Haldwani, and other parts of Kumaon use silk fabric and accessories made of pearl.

कुमाऊनी महिलाओ के आभूषण-
सीसफूल (Sisphool)
यह सोने का आभूषण है जो, फूल के आकार का होता है। जो महिलाए अपने माथे के ऊपर और सिर पे पहनती है।
सिंदूर (Sindoor)
विवाहित (हिन्दू धर्म) महिलाओ का मुख्य आभूषण है। इसे महिलाए अपने माथे पे लगाती है। इसका रंग लाल होता है। बदलते समय के साथ सिंदूर अलग-अलग श्रेणी में आने लग गया है। परंतु मुख्य सिंदूर पावडर की तरह आता है। इसे महिलाए अपने माथे से ऊपर सिर की ओर लगती है। मान्यताओ के अनुसार महिलाए जितना लंबा सिंदूर लगती है, उनके पति की आयु में उतनी ही तरकी होती है।
बिन्दी (Bindi)
बिन्दी माथे के नीचे और भौं के बीच पॉइंट मे लगाई जाती है। इसे विवाहित या अविवाहित महिलाए लगती है। विवाहित महिलाए लाल रंग बिन्दी लगती हैं तथा अविवाहित महिलाए कोई भी रंग की बिन्दी लगा सकती/ लगाते है।
नथ / नथुली (Nath or Nathuli)
नथ बडे से गोल आकार का आभूषण है, जिसे महिलाए अपने नाक पे पहनती है। इसे महिलाए शादी विवाह और अन्य शुभ कार्यों में पहनती है। नथ महिलाओ का मुख्य आभूषण है। अन्य समय महिलाए nose-pine आदि का इस्तेमाल करती है।
गुलबंद / गुलोबन्द (Guloband)
गले में पहने जाने वाला आभूषण है, यह पट्टीनुमा होता है। इस आभूषण में अंदर की तरफ कपड़ा होता है, तथा बाहर से सोने या चांदी का डिजाइन (design) बनाकर इस आभूषण को तैयार किया जाता है।
कमर बंद (Kamar Band)
कमर में पहने जाने वाला आभूषण, यह आभूषण चांदी या सोने का बना होता है। यह एक प्रकार की बेल्ट है जिसमे कई लड़ियाँ या पट्टियाँ बनी होती है, और भीतर की तरफ से कपड़े का बना होता है जिससे की कमर बंद (Kamarband) को आसानी से पहना जा सकता है। अब कमर बंद अलग - अलग Design से आते है तो उनका डिजाइन पहले के बने कमर बंद (Kamarband)से बहुत अलग हैं।
धागुली (Dhaguli)/ धागुल (Dhagul)
धागुल एक प्रकार का आभूषण जो हाथ में पहना जाता है। यह एक प्रकार का हाथ में पहने जाने वाला कडा है। जो की चांदी से बना होता है। धागुल को आज - कल छोटे बच्चों के हाथों में ही देखने को मिलता है। धीरे-धीरे कुमाऊनी महिलाओ का ये लोकप्रिय आभूषण आज लुप्त जैसा हो रहा है। इसका प्रचलन बहुत काम हो गया है।
बिछवा / बिछुआ / बिछिया (Bichhiya / Bichua)
