Scorpion grass (बिच्छू घास) is completely filled with thorns, so its touch only feels unbearable irritation and itching. It is found in the Himalayan regions, In Uttarakhand there are more than 6 species of Sisun. It is used as medicine and also cooked as a vegetable in the Himalayan region as this vegetable is hot, that's why it is generally eaten in the winter season.
It is known as Kandali (कंडाली) in Garhwal Region and Sisun (सिंसूण) in Kumaun Region. It's Botnical Name is Urtica Dioica and also known as Common Nettle.
बिच्छू घास के औषधीय गुण
इसके बीज से पेट साफ हो जाता है। इसके पत्तों का पीलिया में बड़ा लाभ मिलता है। मलेरिया के रोग से लड़ने में भी यह कारगर साबित होता है। मोच या चोट के कारण उत्पन्न हुई सूजन और हड्डी के टूटने या हटने पर इसे प्लास्टर के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।
