Vashistha Cave is located on the banks of the Ganges River at a distance of 16 km from Rishikesh. This is the Tapobhumi of Maharishi Vashistha.This cave is a major place for meditation and yoga and is situated amidst sycamore trees. Near the cave is a Shivalinga considered sacred by Hindus. The famous Hindu saint Shri Swami Purushottamanand ji came to this place in 1928 and 1961. His ashram is located near the cave where many tourists come.
