From which place does Alaknanda of Uttarakhand originate?

It originates from glaciers called Santopanth and Bhagiratha Khark in Uttarakhand. This place is called Gangotri. The Alaknanda River flows for about 195 km in the valley. In Dev Prayag, there is a confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi and after this the name Alaknanda ends and the name Ganga remains only.
