Here is the complete list of Lord Shiva Temple in Uttarakhand. However, there are many more which is not possible to list every small mandir in Uttarakhand. Below are some of the most popular Mahadev (Bholenath) temples in the Uttarakhand state of India.

 

Kedarnath temple

Kedarnath temple is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state of India. Kedarnath Temple is also one of the Char Dham and Panch Kedar with the inclusion of twelve Jyotirlingas in the lap of the Himalayan Mountains in Uttarakhand. It is very ancient. Due to the unfavorable climate of the place, this temple opens for Darshan between the months of April and November. It is said about this temple made of stones from Katyuri style that it was built by Janmejaya of the Pandava dynasty. The Swayambhu Shivling is located here.

 

 

Jageshwar Dham

Jageshwar Dham, located near Almora in Uttarakhand, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Sadashiva. Koteshwar Mahadev Temple

Koteshwar Temple is a very famous Hindu temple, an ancient temple is located at a distance of 3 km from the city of Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand state. Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Koteshwar Mahadev Temple was constructed in the 14th century, followed by the temple being rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries. Devotees visiting Chardham as well as local devotees come to visit this temple in large numbers from local districts.

 

 

Baijnath Temple

Baijnath Temple is a famous Hindu temple.It was built in the Nagara style of Baijnath. It was built in 1204 AD by two local merchants named Ahuka and Manuka. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vaidyanath (Lord of Healers). According to inscriptions, before the construction of the present Baijnath temple, the old temple of Lord Shiva existed at this place. There is a Shiva lingam in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

It is the only ancient Shiva temple in North India, which is south facing, with the Jalhari east side of Shiva-Shakti. Here Shiva Parvati is present in the self-proclaimed form among the water court. It is the most famous temple in the Bageshwar district. It is also named after this temple. It is located in Bageshwar Nagar at the confluence of the Sarayu Gomti and Saraswati rivers.

 

 

Baleshwar Temple

The Baleshwar Temple is located in Champawat in the state of Uttarakhand. It is an ancient temple group dedicated to Lord Shiva. Baleshwar Temple was built by the Chand rulers in the 10–12 AD century. The architecture of this temple is quite beautiful. The temple group is located at a distance of about 100 meters from the bus station of Champawat. The Baleshwar temple complex is one of the nationally protected monuments of Uttarakhand. 

 

 

Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple

Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple is the abode of Lord Shiva Shankar and is built on the "Bilva Parvat" located near Haridwar. It is a very small temple, made of stone with normal Shivling and Nandi. It is surrounded by forest in a mountainous area. The place also houses small temples of Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Mahadev, and Mata Rani. There is a tradition of offering bull leaves to Lord Shiva and anointing the Shiva lingam with the water of the river Ganges. In this temple of Bilvakeshwar Mahadev sits in the form of a linga under Sheshnag. This ancient temple is very popular among the locals. It is said about this place that Mata Parvati used to calm her hunger by eating Belpatra here.

 

 

Arjuneshwar Temple
