Rudranath Temple

Rudranath Temple is a temple of Lord Shiva. Rudranath Temple is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India at an altitude of 2286 meters, which is one of the Panchkedars. Rudranath Temple is situated at an altitude of 2290 meters above sea level, is full of magnificent natural shade. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a special religious significance among Hindus.Lord Shiva is worshiped in the temple as Neelkanth Mahadev. The snow-clad peaks of Nanda Devi and Trishul visible from the front of Rudranath Temple add to the charm of the place. According to the story, the Pandavas came to the Himalayas after the war of Mahabharata, the Pandavas asked Lord Shiva to forgive them for their sins because they were guilty of killing the Koravas in the Mahabharata war, but Lord Shiva did not want to meet them, so he himself Was converted into a Nandi bull and hid somewhere in the Gadwal region.

 

 

 

Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath temple is located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state of India. Kedarnath Temple is also one of the Char Dham and Panch Kedar with the inclusion of twelve Jyotirlingas in the lap of the Himalayan Mountains in Uttarakhand. Due to the unfavorable climate of this place, this temple opens for darshan between April to November. It is said about this temple made of stones from Katyuri style that it was built by Janmejaya of Pandava dynasty. The Swayambhu Shivling located here is very ancient. Madhyamaheshwar or Madmaheshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Shiva. The Madmaheshwar Temple is located in the area near the source (mouth) of the Madmaheshwar River. Located at an altitude of 3289 meters above sea level, this temple is known as the second Kedar. According to legends, when Lord Shiva wanted to hide himself from the Pandavas, he buried himself in Kedarnath to escape, later his body appeared here at Madmaheshwar. The temple remains closed during the winter season. The silver idols of this temple are transferred to Ukhimath. This place also provides an opportunity to visit the nearby tourist attractions like Kali Mandir, Kedarnath, Saraswati Kund, Chaukhamba and Neelkanth peaks.

 

 

 

 

 

Tungnath Temple

Tungnath is a mountain located in Rudraprayag district of Garhwal in Uttarakhand state. The Tungnath Temple is situated on the Tungnath Mountains, is built at an altitude of 3460 meters and is the highest among the Panch Kedars. This temple is believed to be thousands of years old and Lord Shiva is worshiped here as one of the Panch Kedars. It is believed that this temple was built by the Pandavas to please Lord Shiva, who was disgusted with the Pandavas due to the massacre in Kurukshetra. The peak of Tungnath is the source of three streams from which the river Achakamini forms. The temple is located 3 km from Chopta.
